Future • Us -- Quilt Mural「未來•我們」── 拼布大壁畫 / Art Logistics: Ching-Chuan-Kang Public Art Festival 2016 "藝術後勤:2016清泉崗公共藝術季"

From May to October 2016, I was involved in the project of 「未來•我們」── 拼布大壁畫 "Future • Us - Quilt Mural" at Shalu District, Taichung.

This project is part of the 1st non-permanent-installed Public Art Festival in Taichung, the Art Logistics: Ching-Chuan-Kang Public Art Festival 2016 (藝術後勤:2016清泉崗公共藝術季), curated by Chang Hui-Lan, Fine Art Department chairperson of Tunghai University.

I worked with 3 different groups, the 8th grade students of Gong Ming Junior High School, the kindergarten and the 1st and the 2nd graders along with their parents of Gong Ming Elementary School, as well as the junior drummers from the Gong Ming community.

The final result was stunning beautiful, with 8 big pieces of quilt mural, each spanned 300x200 cm, displayed on the wall of both sides at the entrance of Gong Ming Junior High School; 17 smaller pieces of quilt, each about 165x120 cm, displayed on the fences beside the entrance of Gong Ming Elementary School, and a unique uniform for everyone of the Gong Ming Junior Drummers. All the works have been accomplished with generous help from the community.

Due to the big amount of documentation on the working process, more images of the workshops for these 3 groups will not be displayed here, but provided on request.
